Two militants apprehended in Assam

Guwahati, July 26 (IBNS): Security forces on Sunday apprehended two militants, including a cadre of NDFB(S), in Assam’s Sonitpur and Dhubri district.

Following a tip-off, Biswanath Chariali Police  launched an operation at Brahmapur village under Biswanath Chariali police station and nabbed a cadre of NDFB(S) who was  identified as Banjoy Basumutary.

Police recovered one revolver in possession from him.

On other hand, police and army had apprehended a MULTA cadre from Dhubri.

Security forces recovered  a revolver and ammunition in possession from the militant who was identified as Shah Alam.

“He was actively involved in extortion, kidnapping, smuggling of arms, ammunition and fake Indian currency,” a top police official said.
