Two killed, 40 injured in bus-oil tanker collision in Assam’s Kaliabor

Guwahati, Oct 9 (IBNS): Two persons were killed and 40 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and an oil tanker at Kaliabor area in Assam’s Nagaon district on Wednesday.

The incident took place on National Highway – 37 at Kanchanjuri area near Kaliabor in Nagaon district, where a bus with 40 passengers on board collided with an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction.

According to the reports, the passenger bus bearing registration number AS-01HC-8887 was moving towards Jorhat when it collided with an oil tanker bearing registration number AS-01DC-4056.

Two passengers of the bus died on spot and 40 others were injured.

Locals and police have rescued the injured persons and admitted them to Kaliabor and Nagaon civil hospital.
