Mumbai, June 16 (IBNS): TVF CEO Arunabh Kumar, who was accused of sexual harassment, resigned from his post on Friday.

He announced his resignation in an open letter on Twitter.

"I have decided to step down as #TVFCEO" Kumar tweeted.

Earlier, multiple women accused online digital entertainment channel TVF (The Viral Fever) CEO and founder Arunabh Kumar of sexual harassment after an anonymous writer leveled an accusation of molestation against him in a blog post on medium.com.

In a blog, the anonymous writer said that she had been molested by Kumar for three years when she was an employee of TVF.
She mentioned that she had joined TVF in 2014 and was molested for three years until she resigned in 2016.

In an open latter on Friday, Kumar said: "The last few months have been the most challenging ones of my life and I would like to thank my friends and family for their unwavering support."

"Lot of people wanted me to say something or tell my side of the story, but I did not because I learnt the hard way what happens when you say anything in haste," he added.

He even felt that his instinctive reaction to the allegations was a mistake.

Kumar, who believes "truth will prevail", said: "A lot has happened in the last three months which has mentally and emotionally drained me."

The CEO cited the damage brought on the brand image of TVF due to the allegations against him, prompted to take the decision of quitting, though he would continue as a mentor for the content team.

Following the anonymous blog written by the woman who accused Kumar, several women broke silence on social media and recounted their experience of facing similar situations.

One of those women, Ayushi Agarwal said: "I don't know who you are but I am also an ex-TVF employee and I have had to face a similar experience working there. I felt exploited and cheated and I left job under very bad circumstances. I hope things have worked out for you. I would never recommend anybody to work there."

Another women who worked with TVF accused Kumar through a Facebook post that the latter had touched her inappropriately during a shooting.

The accused however denied all the allegations hurled against him and said that he is ready to face the matter legally.

He even stated that he used to call a woman "sexy" as a compliment and he finds it absolutely fine.

The colleagues of Kumar though previously stood beside him and defended but later ensured an investigation.

A case was also filed against Kumar, following the accusation.

Dhawal Gusain will take over the charge of CEO for TVF.
