TN: 8 students killed as car hits tree
Chennai, Jan 16 (IBNS): At least eight students were killed in a road accident in the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu as their car hit a tree at Vanamadevi on Saturday, media reports said.
One student of the car survived and is being treated.
According to reports, investigators said the victims were students of MIT Polytechnic in Salem district.
District Superintendent of Police Vijayakumar told media: "We suspect the young students were drunk and speeding. The car was clearly overcrowded with people."
