TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee jibes at BJP govt after special train to Delhi refused

Kolkata/UNI: Trinamool Congress national general secretary and Lok Sabha MP, Abhishek Banerjee, has come down heavily on the BJP for refusing to provide a special train during his protest march to Delhi.

TMC had planned to arrange a special train to take thousands of West Bengal's deprived MGNREGS job card holders to Delhi.

"The BJP government shamelessly refused to provide a special train after accepting the deposit. This blatant obstruction of West Bengal's right to protest for their rightful dues is a glaring testament to their FEAR, Banerjee said.

"Bring out your full arsenal, misuse every government agency at your disposal; it won't break our resolve. In fact, it only fuels our determination, intensifying the language of our protest. The harder you try to oppress us, the more our people will rise, stronger and more resolute than ever before."

Banerjee described it as the "premeditated political gambit orchestrated by @dir_ed, laying bare the desperate attempts by BJP to muzzle the voice of dissent."

"What we witnessed today was a rallying cry for all who cherish the principles of democracy, a stinging rebuke to those who trample upon it, and a call to arms for those who stand ready to defend it."

"BJP4India is employing its corrupt tactics to prevent us from protesting for our RIGHTS! The Railway Authority cancelled the special train, which was meant for the travel of deprived MGNREGA wage labourers to Delhi at the last minute. If this doesn't signify BJP's fear of the Bengal voice, what does?" he asked.

"We have received an email from the office of @girirajsinghbjp, stating his absence in Delhi, " he said adding, "He underscored that the @BJP4India-led Central Govt. has blocked the funds of vulnerable poor people due to the defeat it faced in the Bengal elections."

"This reveals the true face of the BJP, making our citizens suffer simply because they stand against its wrongdoings."

Banerjee, who got a summon from the ED to appear at the CGO Complex here in October 3 in connection with teachers' recruitment scam, on Friday stated that he will be joining the party's protest programme in the national capital against alleged non-transfer of central funds for several schemes, including MGNREGA.

"The fight against the deprivation of WB and its rightful dues shall persist regardless of the obstacles," Banerjee said.

"No force on Earth can hinder my dedication to fight for the people of WB and their fundamental rights. I'll be in Delhi joining the protest on Oct 2nd & 3rd. STOP ME IF U CAN," he asserted.

On Thursday he said, "Earlier this month, the ED summoned me on a day coinciding with an important coordinating meeting of #INDIA in Delhi. I dutifully appeared and complied with the served summons."

"Now, today yet again they have served me another summons to appear before them on a day when the protest agitation for West Bengal's rightful dues is scheduled in Delhi on 3rd Oct. This stark revelation unequivocally exposes those who are truly perturbED, rattlED and scarED," Banerjee averred.
