TMC means Transfer My Commission: PM Modi targets Mamata over corruption in Bengal

Kolkata/IBNS: Cornering the Mamata Banerjee government over corruption, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the Trinamool Congress or TMC means "Transfer My Commission" while his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands for DBT or Direct Benefit Transfer.

In his long speech at a rally in Purulia's Bhangra, Modi spent his maximum words on the alleged corruption by the ruling party saying, "We want to make a Sonar Bangla where there will be no place for extortion, cut money, syndicate types of corruption.

"We want to make a Sonar Bangla where goons, criminals would be in jail."

Modi also appealed to people to hold Mamata, who is the Chief Minister of the state for 10 years, accountable for her works.

"Mamata Didi should be held accountable for her works. For 10 years she kept on playing with people," said the BJP's prime campaigner.

He added, "West Bengal can only develop when all sectors come together. Mamata didi, however, never brought together the dalits, tribals, SCs/STs and other such classes. The 10 years of corruption has dealt a massive blow to these people."

Taking a dig at the Trinamool's "Khela Hobe (game is on)" slogan, Modi said, "Didi says Khela Hobe, BJP says jobs, development, education, hospitals, schools and Sonar Bangla will be made."

"Khela sesh, vikas shuru (game is over, now development will begin)," thundered the Prime Minister.

Modi on Thursday slammed the Trinamool Congress over its appeasement politics questioning Mamata's stance over the Batla House encounter in 2008.

"Mamata Didi and her party had questioned the Batla House encounter then (in 2008) due to appeasement politics. People didn't forget that," said Modi as the state is heading to a marathon eight-phase polls starting on Mar 27.

A Delhi court on Monday sentenced to death Indian Mujahideen terrorist Ariz Khan, who was recently convicted in the 2008 Batla House encounter case for the murder of police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma and other offences that took place in the national capital over 12 years ago.
