New Delhi/UNI: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O'Brien on Sunday hit out at the ruling BJP government in Tripura after seven of its party were injured in an attack allegedly by the saffron party cadres and termed it "fascist brutality'.

"Gujarat model in Tripura. AITC will never accept such fascist brutality," the TMC MP wrote in a tweet, in an apparent reference to the Biplab Kumar Deb-led government.

Informing that TMC MPs have headed towards Delhi, he said, "Now. Eyeball to eyeball."

Meanwhile, sources said that several TMC MPs will reach the national capital on Sunday night and added that they also sought an appointment to meet the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to apprise him on the same.

Sources said that they will also stage a dharna against the BJP government in Tripura over the issue in the national capital.

At least seven TMC workers were injured in a sudden broad daylight attack at East Agartala Women police station allegedly by BJP cadres on Sunday when Tripura police brought TMC youth wing chief Saayoni Ghosh for questioning.

Ghosh was arrested by the Tripura police after three hours of interrogation under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In a viral video, she was seen 'Khela Hobe Biplab Babu' from a vehicle near an election rally of Deb in Ashram Chowmuhani area in Agartala.

Civic poll in Tripura is scheduled to be held on Nov 25.
