Three fire incidents in Kolkata in few hours : A slum, a hosiery factory, an IT office

Kolkata, Dec 17 (IBNS) : As tragedy struck a Kolkata slum where two persons were killed in a blaze, fire broke out in two more places- an IT office and a hosiery factory- in two different parts of the city within few hours since Friday night.

Reports said A hosiery factory at north Kolkata's Beadon Street area caught fire on Saturday morning prompting eleven fire engines to rush to the spot.

The incident that took place in a congested area, triggered panic among the local residents. No reports of casualty have been received so far.

In another incident, fire  broke out  in  an IT office building in  DN Block of  Salt Lake sector-V on Friday midnight.

Two fire tenders rushed to the scene and doused blaze in 30 minutes.

Night shift workers were on duty when the blaze started.

All of them were evacuated safely and there was no casualty.

Reports said the fire might have started due to short circuit in AC machine on the fourth floor of the building.

Two persons, including a minor girl, were burnt to death after a fire broke out in a slum in north Kolkata's Patipukur area early Satuday morning, destroying at least 20 shanties.

.According to reports, the blaze was first seen at around 3 am. at Subhash Colony beside Patipukur railway tracks and it spread quickly.

As many as 20 fire tender engines rushed to the spot and fought for hours to bring the major blaze under control.
