New Delhi/IBNS: A third crew member has tested positive for coronavirus infection in the cruise ship quarantined off the coast of Japan, Indian Embassy in Tokyo confirmed in a tweet on Friday.

The cruise ship--Diamond Princess-- with 3,711 people on board, including 138 Indian passengers and crew.

Two days ago, the Indian mission in Japan had confirmed two Indians on board had been tested positive for the infection.

So far, at least 64,000 people have been infected with coronavirus and killed more than a thousand people.

On Feb 3, the ship was quarantined with almost 3,700 passengers and crew members aboard.

This happened after a passenger carrying the virus had deboarded the ship last month in Hong Kong, the embassy said in a statement.

The cruise ship named Diamond Princess is carrying 138 Indians onboard.

A total of 174 people on board have been infected with the virus, the embassy noted.
