Terror bid on Assam rail track foiled by Army: Reports

Guwahati, Aug 14 (IBNS) Ahead of the Independence day celebrations, a terror attack bid in Assam has been foiled by the Army, said media reports on Friday.

The terrorists were conspiring to plant an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the Guwahati-Kokrajhar rail track, said reports.


Reports said the Army killed a suspected terrorist of the Kamtapur Liberation Organisation in an encounter last night, thus foiling the bid.

The encounter occurred in the forests of Rabha Para in Kokrajhar district.
