Hyderabad, Aug 17 (IBNS) : A police officer was found dead at his government home at Sangareddy in Telengana's Medak district in the early hours of Wednesday after he allegedly shot himself in the head with his service revolver, reports said.

Sub Inspector Ramakrishna Reddy, 45, was alone at his home.

Other policemen rushed to his home on hearing a gunshot and found his body.

Reddy, who was posted at Kuknoorpally Police Station,  had reportedly sent his wife and two children to his parents' home two days ago.

Media reports quoted Reddy's family as having alleged that he had been subjected to continuous harassment by senior officers.

An investigation into the incident has started.
