Telangana police summon top BJP leader BL Santosh over BJP's attempt 'to buy' KCR's party MLAs

Hyderabad/IBNS: The Telangana Police has summoned top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader BL Santhosh over his party's alleged attempts to "buy" four MLAs from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), now renamed as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

National General Secretary (Organisation) of the BJP, BL Santhosh, has to appear before the police on Nov 21 or he will be arrested, the notice said.

This comes days after the High Court ruled that the police could continue the probe into the matter but also ordered that a judge will monitor it.

Three men were arrested last month for allegedly making "an offer of Rs. 100 crore" to TRS legislators at a farmhouse.

The allegations come at a time when KCR renamed the TRS to Bharat Rashtra Samithi aiming for a national role to take on PM Narendra Modi and the BJP in 2024.

Earlier, KCR had called a press conference where he showed videos that he claimed as proof of BJP's "poaching attempt".

He had also linked PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah with the "poaching attempt".

Parading the four MLAs who had supposedly recorded the "attempts attempt to buy them out", KCR claimed to have three hours of hidden-camera footage, of which he played about five minutes.
