TCS ‘conversion’ case: Key accused Nida Khan arrested after going on the run

Nida Khan, a key accused in the forced religious conversion case linked to the Tata Consultancy Services unit in Nashik, was arrested in Maharashtra on Thursday, media reports said.

Khan had reportedly been absconding after her name surfaced in the case.

Worked at TCS Nashik, later shifted to Mumbai

According to reports, she was employed at TCS's Nashik office and was transferred around two months ago to the company’s Mumbai offices in Malad and Hiranandani.

The transfer allegedly came shortly after her husband, Moin Naveed Iqbal Khan, secured a job as a logistics officer at Amazon Web Services in Mumbra.

Suspended after name surfaced

Once her alleged involvement in the case became public, Khan was reportedly suspended from her job. Investigators say she then went into hiding to avoid arrest.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the allegations surrounding the Nashik TCS case, including the roles of other individuals possibly linked to the matter.

Allegations against Khan

The case stems from a complaint by a woman who accused her colleague Danish Sheikh of entering into a physical relationship with her on the false promise of marriage in 2022, despite already being married.

Police say Khan, Sheikh’s sister, allegedly made derogatory remarks about the complainant’s faith and pressured her to convert.

She is also accused, along with another individual, of concealing Sheikh’s marital status.

As the investigation progressed, seven more women came forward, alleging mental and sexual harassment by senior employees and claiming that complaints to the HR department were ignored.

The incidents are said to have occurred between February 2022 and March 2026.
