Tamil Nadu speaker disqualifies 18 AIADMK MLAs from Dinakaran camp

Chennai, Sep 18 (IBNS): Tamil Nadu speaker, P. Dhanapal, on Monday disqualified 18 AIADMK MLAs from TTV Dinakaran's camp in continuation of the ongoing power struggle in the ruling party, media reports said.

The disqualification came after the OPS-EPS camps sacked VK Sasikala as the general secretary of the AIADMK and sidelined Dinakaran in the party.

Dinakaran, who had demanded a floor test in the Assembly, claimed that the Government will reduce to a minority without the support of his loyalists.

The EPS-OPS camps on last Tuesday passed a resolution to quash all appointees after the death of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha and also dismissed decisions taken by Dinakaran in the party.

The power struggle in the party began after  Jayalalitha's death as VK Sasikala, who is presently in jail for an assets disproportionate case, tried to become the state's CM. .
