Tamil Nadu political crisis: Sasikala expels AIADMK Presidium Chairman

| | Feb 10, 2017, at 10:22 pm
Chennai, Feb 10 (IBNS) : : AIADMK Interim General Secretary and Chief Ministerial aspirant V K Sasikala on Friday Friday expelled party presidium chairman E Madhusudanan from the primary membership an hour after the veteran leader urged the Election Commission to declare as null and void Sasikala's election as party chief, reports said.

"Madhusudanan has violated the party principles and brought disrepute to the party. He has been removed from the primary membership of the party," Sasikala said in a statement.

Madhusudanan, who on Thursday had defected to the Paneerselvam camp, was replaced by former minister and Gopichettipalayam MLA K A Sengottaiyan.

Sasikala requested the party leaders and workers to not have any truck with Madhusudanan.

Reacting to his expulsion, Madhusudanan only said,"Wait and watch."

The Panneerselvam camp has said that they are the "real AIADMK" and that Sasikala has no power to remove officeholders as she is "Interim General Secretary".
