New Delhi, Nov 6 (IBNS): Boosted by its imminent win along with ally Janata Dal (Secular) in the Karnataka bypolls, the Congress has claimed the victory as a short version of the outcome of 2019 General Elections, which will be held in a few months' time.

According to the latest report, the Congress-JD(S) alliance is set to win  two out of three Lok Sabha seats and all the assembly seats, where elections were held on last Saturday.

Following the success, the Congress in its official Twitter handle said: "The sweeping victory of the Congress - JD(S) alliance in the #KarnatakaBypolls is just a teaser for what is in storefor the BJP next year. Congratulations to all the winners. #KarnatakaRejectsBJP"

The bypolls were held in Ballary, Mandya, Shimoga Lok Sabha seats and Ramanagara, Jamkhandi assembly constituencies. The results are coming out on Tuesday.

As per the last media report, the Congress is ahead in Bellary and Jamkhandi by one lakh and 11,000 votes respectively.

The JD(S) is leading in Ramanagara and Mandya by 36,000 and one lakh votes respectively.

In Ramanagara, BJP candidate L Chandrasekhar gave a walkover even before the polls by joining the Congress.

Shimoga has come as the only hope for the BJP this time as the saffron party is leading the seat by 35,000 votes.

Presently, the Congress and the JD(S) are running the Karnataka government together.
