Sushant Singh Rajput death: Post-mortem done, autopsy report claims suicide

Mumbai/IBNS: The autopsy report of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput has claimed prima facie that the death of the Bollywood star occured due to suicide, media reports said.

The post-mortem has been done at Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital.

The organs of Sushant have been sent to JJ Hospital to check whether any poisonous substance was present. 

The last rites of the actor will be performed after his father and other family members reach Mumbai from Patna.

Bollywood actor with the boy-next-door look Sushant, who had portrayed India's former cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni onscreen, was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on Sunday.

He was found hanging in his home.

The 'Shuddh Desi Romance' actor was 34.

Reportedly, Sushant was suffering from mental depression for the past several months.

From Bollywood to sports personalities to top politicians, all mourned the death of the young actor who started his acting journey on small screens.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the untimely death in a tweet saying, "Sushant Singh Rajput...a bright young actor gone too soon. He excelled on TV and in films. His rise in the world of entertainment inspired many and he leaves behind several memorable performances. Shocked by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family and fans. Om Shanti."
