Srinagar, Feb 3 (IBNS): Interacting with students in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the surgical strike conducted by the Indian Army across the Line of Control during his tenure reflected the new policy needed to tackle the issue of terrorism.

Surgical Strike:

The surgical strike was conducted by the Indian Army on Sept 29, 2016.

The events go back to Sept 18, 2016, when 19 soldiers were killed in an early morning attack by Pakistani terrorists.

The attack was carried out at the 12 Infantry Brigade headquarters in Uri.

On Sept 29, Indian Army's Special Forces conducted “surgical strikes” on terror launch pads across Line of Control (LoC), winning appreciations from countrymen.
