Kolkata, Jun 8 (IBNS): At a time when the Calcutta High Court directed West Bengal government to submit affidavit by next three weeks on the recent Diamond Harbour student lynching incident, another Higher Secondary (HS) passed out student was beaten to death over a false allegation of mango stealing in Kolkata on Tuesday, reports said.

According to reports, a teenager student- Aniruddha Ghosh- along with his few friends, who are the residents of Satyajit Nagar, went to nearby Harir Bagan area under Haridevpur Police Station limits in south southern Kolkata on June 3 evening.

Alleging that they had stolen mangoes, few locals beat them up badly. Other friends managed to escape from the spot.

After being rescued, he was rushed to M. R. Bangur Hospital and later at midnight moved to a private hospital at Thakurpukur. Few days later, Aniruddha Ghosh was shifted to a privately run hospital at Alipore area, where he died on Tuesday midnight.

His family members lodged FIR against several people at Haridevpur Police Station. After starting investigation into the case and initiating a case under unintentional murder section, police have arrested two accused so far.
