Stop disruption strategy, else we are not with you : Mulayam Singh tells Congress

New Delhi, Aug 10 (IBNS) Disapproving of the unabated opposition protests that virtually kept Parliamentary proceedings suspended for about three weeks, Samajwadi Party supremo Mualayam Singh Yadav on Monday warned the Congress not to continue further if it wants his party to stand by it in needs.

Yadav's party has recently expressed solidarity with the Congress against the suspension of 25 of its parliamentarians for unruly behaviour.

But "enough is enough", he said.  "we will not back you if you keep protesting."

The Monsoon Session of Parliament, which ends in four days, has been in a complete deadlock  forcing important legislations to be on the shelf with the recalcitrant Congress demanding that the government first remove three top leaders, embroiled in major controversies before anything.

Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje have been accused of surreptitious support to tainted cricket boss  Lalit Modi. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is also in the centre of a storm over the Vyapam scam.

The BJP has ruled out resignations, but has urged the Congress to allow a debate, with the offer that the PM will comment on the controversies. However, the Congress remains unmoved by the offer.

Last week, 25 Congress members of the Lok Sabha were suspended for five days for rushing to the well of the House and indulging in unruly behaviour leading to consistent disruption of the house.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi has described the Speaker's action as "the murder of democracy".

Other opposition parties have also expressed solidarity with the Congress against what they described as an attempt to block dissent.
