Stand up and respect Parliament: PM Modi

| @indiablooms | Dec 22, 2019, at 02:37 pm

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said it is time to stand up and respect Parliament and added his government did not verify the religion of the beneficiaries while handing out the benefits of government schemes.

"Never did we ask anyone to prove their religion, their community while handing out free benefits under Ujjwala Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna and Ayush Yojna, then why are we being accused of communalism?" he questioned the rally at Ramleela Maidan in Delhi.

"Why in the name of papers and documents are we being maligned? We have never been partial to any community. No matter what their religion is, how they worship? he thundered.

"1.7 crore people have been given out free LPG connection. I tell you that more people will be given out the benefits. We will build more homes," he said attacking the opposition.

"They(opposition) are spreading lies, creating dissatisfaction among Muslims, instigating them. Can I ask why this is being done, when you had not been partial to anyone?" he said.

"The Citizenship Amendment Act has nothing to do with the 130 cr people of India or the Muslim citizens of India. Then why so much uproar against it?" he stated.

"NRC was conceived by the Congress, developed by it and ordered by the Supreme Court. It was never presented in Parliament and in Cabinet. Since the time my government came into power, there has been no discussion on NRC. Congress is spreading lies," he iterated.

"The urban Naxals are spreading rumours that the Muslims will be transferred to detention centers? I saw one media report in which a reporter asked a person' where is the detention center?' He said he had heard about it," he added.

"The Congress and urban Naxalas are together spreading fear that the Muslims will be sent to detention centers. It is a lie, a lie, a lie," he said making a blistering attack.

"I repeat, Indian Muslims, whose ancestors were the children of India, have nothing to fear. NRC or CAA has nothing to do with Indian Muslims," he added.
