Lucknow, May 19 (UNI): The Samajwadi Party complained to the Election Commission of that its workers and leaders in Gorakhpur had been harassed during the polling on Sunday

An SP delegation, led by senior leaders Udaveer Singh Yadav and Anand Bhadoria, met the UP EC officials here and complained about the detention of SP leaders in Gorakhpur, on the orders of BJP government, thus influencing the polling.

They also alleged that in some places, genuine voters' names were deleted from the list, particularly in Muslim localities.

"The EVMs were intentionally made faulty in certain booths, so that the Muslims, who were observing Ramzan, did not vote, as they could not stand in the queue for a long time," the party alleged in the memorandum, submitted to the EC.

They also raised the issue of clash between the BJP and SP workers in Chandauli Lok Sabha seat and asked the EC to take action against the BJP leaders.
