Sonia Gandhi condoles Pandit Lacchu Maharaj's death

New Delhi, July 28 (IBNS): Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi condoled the death of senior India Tabla maestro Pandit Lacchu Maharaj, who passed away on Thursday.

"Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi has condoled the passing away of Tabla Maestro Pandit Lachhu Maharaj.Describing him as a frontline exponent of Tabla, Smt. Gandhi said, that his contributions to the Classical as well as the popular Film genre would forever inspire artists in the years to come," a tweet on the official page of INC read.

"She expressed her solidarity with the bereaved family and admirers of Pandit Lachhu Mahraj in this moment of grief," it said.

Maharaj was 72 at the time of his death.
