Patna, July 4 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): A high-tension electric wire fell on a house in India’s Bihar state on Tuesday, killing six Muslim women on the spot.

The shocking incident took place in Murliganj block of Madhepura district on Tuesday.

All the victims are women. Of the total killed, three are children aged between eight and 13.

Reports said the victims were working in the farmland when the incessant rains forced them to take shelter inside a thatched house.

Hardly had they went inside, when a high-tension overhead live wife fell on the thatched roof, killing them on the spot, reports said.

The state government has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to each victim family.
