Six killed in Gondia hotel fire in Maharashtra

Gondia, Maharashtra, Dec 21 (IBNS) : At least six people were killed when a massive fire broke out in a hotel at Gondia, 170 km off Nagpur in eastern Maharashtra early on Wednesday, media reports said.

The victims, reportedly guests of the hotel,  were  in sleep when the blaze started around 3 30 am, the reports said quoting official sources..

Altogether 15 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames which were brought under control after nearly seven hours.

According to reports  search is on to rescue some other guests feared trapped in the hotel.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
