New Delhi/IBNS: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced to conduct repoll at polling booth no. 126 in Sitalkuchi Assembly Constituency (05) in northern West Bengal's Cooch Behar district on Apr 29, officials said.

According to reports, the polling will be held on Apr 29 during the eighth and final phase of Bengal assembly polls from 7 am. till 6:30 pm.

Earlier on Apr 10, four Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters died after CISF personnel on election duty opened fire in 'self-defense' following violence outside polling booth 126 (Amtali Madhyamik Siksha Kendra) while polling was underway.

Sources in the ECI said that local machinery of the poll body had been directed to arrange tighter security at the polling station to avoid any kind of untoward incident.
