New Delhi/UNI: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has written a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi seeking a meeting to present "13 points agenda" as part of election manifesto for the upcoming assembly election in Punjab.

The letter, which was dated October 15, was shared by Sidhu on his Twitter account on Sunday. This comes days after he withdrew his resignation as Punjab Congress President and agreed to continue as PPCC chief after talks with the High Command and Rahul Gandhi.

“I request you to kindly give me a personal audience to present to you the Punjab model with a 13 point agenda to be part of the Congress manifesto for the 2022 Assembly election,” he wrote to the Congress president.

Among the points highlighted in his 13-point agenda are justice for sacrilege, drugs, agriculture, electricity, PPAs, Scheduled Caste and Backward Caste welfare, employment, single window system and comparative advantage, women and youth empowerment, liquor, sand mining, transport and cable mafia.

In his letter, he explained his 17-year political journey and his efforts in winning 53 of the 55 seats he campaigned.

Sidhu also highlighted the 18-point agenda given his own solutions to the issues and maintained that these issues remain "equally relevant" as it was in when given to the last Chief Minister.

“I always strive to follow the value of our party to empower the poorest of the poor, to give opportunities to the last man in queue, but these have been hard solutions and one of the main reason for dislike against me by powerful people associated with Mafias ruining the state," he wrote in the letter.
