Shastrinagar rape case: Internet service resumes in Jaipur city
Jaipur, Jul 6 (UNI) Internet service resumed in the 'Pink City' on Saturday, four days after it was suspended following protest by people over abduction and rape of a seven-year-old girl in the city.
A manhunt for the accused is on.
On Tuesday, people in the area stormed the local police station demanding arrest of the accused. As many as 16 people were taken into custody after a mob went on the rampage smashing vehicles and windowpanes.
The girl was kidnapped from outside her house in Shastri Nagar on Monday evening by a man on a motorcycle who claimed to be her father's friend.
The victim was found after two hours near the Amanishah canal that runs through the city, about 15 kms away.
The girl is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jaipur where her condition is stated to be stable.
