Patna, Aug 16 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): The ruling JD-U in Bihar moved a step closer to split on Wednesday with revolting party MP Sharad Yadav announcing to hold “Sajha Virasat Bachao‘ (Save Composite Culture) conference in Delhi on Thursday.

The development coming in the backdrop of chief minister Nitish Kumar’s move to form government with the BJP after breaking alliance with the Grand Alliance is being considered as a major initiative to bring unity in opposition camp as also to show his might.

All top opposition parties, such as the Congress, the Left, Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, BSP and RJD have been invited at the function.

“Although the preamble of the Constitution speaks of securing justice, liberty, equality and fraternity for all citizens but what is happening in the present India is totally reverse and that people are living in fear,” NDTV quoted Yadav as saying at a Press conference in Delhi today.

He clarified the programme was not against anybody adding similar functions would be held across the country.

The JD-U has removed Yadav as the leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha after he revolted against the party leadership and then proceeded on three-day tour of Bihar, telling the masses how the chief minister has insulted the people’s mandate by forming government with the BJP which was given the mandate to sit in the opposition.
