Sex CD scandal: SIT to provide security to women accused

Bengaluru/UNI: Karnataka Minister for Home Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday directed the Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed to investigate into alleged sex-CD scandal allegedly involving former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, to provide security to the woman allegedly involved in the scandal.

His statement came after the woman released a video statement seeking protection.

“It has been reported that she has addressed a video to me. I’ve asked the SIT to provide the woman with the required security,” Bommai said. “I’ve also directed the SIT to continue the investigation factoring in this video,” he added.

Earlier, Ramesh said that the woman seeking protection was part of the conspiracy against him. “The (woman’s) video came out after I filed a complaint. That’s how coordinated this conspiracy is”, he added.

Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah announced earlier in the day that he will raise the providing security to the woman in the Session on Monday.
