Seventeen killed, 25 injured in UP bus accident

Lucknow, June 13 (IBNS): Seventeen people were killed and 12 injured when a bus overturned after crashing into the road divider in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning, media reports said.

Those killed include one woman.

The injured, including the bus driver, have been rushed to the hospital where the condition of three is stated to be critical.

According to the initial investigation, the driver of the speeding bus lost control over the wheel.

The accident occurred in the  Danhara area.

The reports quoted police officials as saying that the bus was carrying around 60-70 people, mostly brick kilns labourers, and was on its way to Farrukhabad from Jaipur in Rajasthan.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condoled the death of the passengers.
