Services falter as public sector banks go on strike

| | Feb 28, 2017, at 08:17 pm
New Delhi, Feb 28 (IBNS): No services took place at public sector banks on Tuesday as the United Forum of Bank Unions decided to go ahead with its strike, according to media reports.

Branches of public banks either remained closed or non-operational as the officers and staff went on their day-long strike.

UFBU has put forth several demands, including making top executives accountable for a bank's bad loans.

Some of the issues that the unions have raised are proposed labour reforms by the government, outsourcing of banking jobs, and compensation and wages.
