SER conducts anti-littering, ticket checking drive

Kolkata, Mar 13 (IBNS) South Eastern Railway conducted a massive anti littering and ticket checking drive in the month of February, 2015 in its entire jurisdiction, officials said.

During the Anti Littering Drive, fines have been imposed on 1976 persons in February 2015 as against 1344 persons in the same month of last year. 

"An amount of Rs.1,43,921/- was realized as fine during the Anti Littering Drive in February 2015 which is 50.58% more than the corresponding month of last year," read a statement issued by the government.

"South Eastern Railway also intensified its Ticket Checking Drive in February 2015.  As a result of raids against persons travelling without ticket or with improper ticket, an amount of Rs.158.94 lakhs was collected in February 2015, 19.5% more than the corresponding month of last year," it said.
