New Delhi/UNI: Veteran journalist and Indian Express national bureau chief, Ravish Tiwari, has passed away, the news was confirmed on Twitter by fellow journalist Vikas Bhadauria on Saturday.

The 41-year-old journalist, who was previously with the Economic Times and the India Today, passed away last night.

He was fighting cancer for two years.

Last night, he developed severe problems in the urinary system.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital.

His BP was falling. He was put on a ventilator but couldn't be saved, the hospital sources said.

Bhadauria said Tiwari's last rites will be performed at Sector-20, Gurugram at 3.30 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled Tiwari's death and expressed grief.

"Destiny has taken away Ravish Tiwari too soon. A bright career in the media world comes to an end. I would enjoy reading his reports and would also periodically interact with him. He was insightful and humble. Condolences to his family and many friends. Om Shanti," Modi tweeted.

The journalist community is in a state of shock after quick deaths of several of their members in their prime.

Mid-Jan, award winning NDTV reporter Kamal Khan suddenly passed away after suffering a heart attack.

Prior to it, Rohit Sardana an anchor, journalist, and editor with Zee News passed away in Apr 2021.
