Srinagar, Apr 27 (UNI): Security forces launched Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) in one place each in south Kashmir districts of Shopian and Pulwama on Saturday, official sources said.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants, troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation at Heff Sheermal in Shopian early this morning.

The security forces have cordoned off vast orchards and launched the searches which were going on when the reports last came in, they said, adding that so far, no contact has been established with the militants.

They said similar CASO was also launched at village Aripal, Tral, in Pulwama district this morning. All exit points were sealed and house-to-house searches launched, they said, adding that the operation was going on. So far, no one has been arrested.
