Security forces arrest one NDFB (S) militant with arms in Assam’s Baksa district

Guwahati, Dec 10 (IBNS): Security forces on Monday arrested a militant of banned Saraigwra faction of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB-S) in Assam’s Baksa district.

Acting on a tip-off, Assam police launched a joint operation with the 5 Gorkha Rifles (GR) at Kumarikata area and arrested the militant who was moving towards Sashipur area along the Indo-Bhutan border.

The arrested militant was identified as Harkilash Narzary alias N Hasthai and security personnel recovered one US made 7.65 mm pistol, one magazine and three rounds live ammunition in possession from him.

The militant revealed that he had taken arms training in Myanmar.
