Security forces apprehended NSCN-K militant in Manipur’s Noney

Guwahati: Security forces have apprehended a hardcore militant of NSCN-K in Manipur’s Noney district.

Based on secret information about the movement of one suspected person of NSCN-K from Khoupum towards Noney on Old Cachar road in Noney district, a combined team of 29 Assam Rifles along with a special commando unit conducted frisking and checking at Thangal village Noney district.

The team had first detained a person under suspicion and later he revealed that he is an active militant of NKCN-K and later the security personnel apprehended him.

The apprehended militant was identified as Kamei Pourei Rongmei who joined the outfit in 2016 and got basic military training for one month in the general area of Lungchai training centre at Tamenglong district.

Later the apprehended militant was handed over to Lamphel police station for further investigation.
