Srinagar, Feb 3 (IBNS): Security forces on Friday identified the arrested militant as Manzoor Ganaie, who was apprehended along with arms, during a search operation at Nowpora area of Pulwama in south Kashmir, officials said.

He was active just 20 days ago with LeT.

"On tip off information about presence of militants in Nowpora village, 55 RR & Pulwama police laid a seige around the houses and started to search door to door,"  said senior police official.

When forces approached towards a house, the hiding militant started crying and appealing security forces not to open fire.

"We arrested one local militant of LeT outfit along the arms,  including pistol and 2 grenades from his possession," the officer added.

Operation was on to find more militants in the area.
