SC asks AG whether German can be continued as third language this academic session
New Delhi, Nov 28 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Attorney General whether the German language can be continued as a third language only for the current academic year 2014-2015 in Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country.
The matter will be heard again on Monday.
The government had earlier filed an interim order to replace German with Sanskrit.
However, the move will affect about 7000 students across of KV schools in India from classes 6-8.
The petitioner's lawyer, Himanshu Sharma told media: "The SC has directed the Center to come up with some alternative asking if this change can be implemented from the next session in April. Court has asked us to file a rejoinder by Wednesday."
