Salman Khan acquitted by Jodhpur court in Arms Act case
According to reports, the 51-year-old actor walked free as the Jodhpur Chief Metropolitan Judge's court gave him benefit of doubt after the prosecution failed to produce conclusive evidence against him.
Salman Khan had pleaded "not guilty" to charges of violating the law by keeping unlicensed weapons and using them.
The case involved the killing of black bucks when Salman Khan and his co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu, were shooting for a film in the forests near Jodhpur.
Salman Khan's lawyer had argued that there is no evidence that he was carrying firearms, and that he was only carrying air guns.
The star had arrived the city by a chartered flight on Tuesday evening. He was accompanied by sister Alvira Khan.
Over the years, Salman Khan has several cases for allegedly killing two chinkaras and two black bucks on three hunts. In 2007, he spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail.
He has already been acquitted by the Rajasthan High Court in two cases related to the killing of chinkara deer, an endangered species.
The Rajasthan Government has, however, challenged the verdict in the Supreme Court.
A lower court had earlier handed the actor a one year jail term and five-year term in the two cases.
Another case involving the alleged poaching of two black bucks is still being heard.
