Sale of electoral bonds at authorised State Bank of India branches from Oct 4

New Delhi: The government introduced the Electoral Bond Scheme 2018, amended in November 2022, the Ministry of Finance said on Friday.

These bonds can be purchased by Indian citizens or entities established in India. Individuals can buy them alone or with others.

Only registered political parties meeting specific criteria are eligible to receive these bonds.

The State Bank of India is authorized to issue and encash Electoral Bonds in its designated branches from October 4 to October 13, 2023.

These bonds are valid for fifteen days from the date of issue.

If deposited after this period, they will not be honoured. The deposited bonds will be credited to the political party's account on the same day.
