Saki Naka rape-murder disgrace to humanity': Maha CM, DyCM

Aurangabad / Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday said that the rape of a woman in Saki Naka area of the city and her subsequent death is a 'disgrace to humanity' and the culprit will be severely punished.

"I have spoken to the state Home Minister in this regard and have taken complete information about the incident. I have also spoken to the Commissioner of Police," he said in an official statement.

Calling the incident as 'reprehensible', he assured that the perpetrator would be severely punished.

He has also directed to expedite the investigation into the crime.

The case would be taken on fast track in order to get justice to the victim's family, Mr Thackeray added.

While, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in his tweet termed the incident of rape and death of a woman in Mumbai as 'very unfortunate, shameful and heartbreaking'.

"Steps will be taken to punish the perpetrators of this incident, which is 'disgrace to humanity'," he added.
