Bengaluru/UNI: Raising his voice in favour of women protesting against the hijab in Iran, Isha Foundation Founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev on Wednesday said neither the religious nor the lecherous should determine how women should dress.

Sadhguru was commenting on Day 5 protests in Iran over the death of a young woman, Mahsa Amini, following her arrest by the country’s morality police.
The 22 years old Mahsa was detained by Iran's morality police for improperly wearing a hijab and was brutally assaulted as she fell into a coma, eventually causing her death.
Protests are being staged in at least 15 cities of Iran including Tabriz, Rasht, Isfahan and Shiraz. The police are dispersing the protestors using tear gas and resorting to detainment to bring the situation under control.
In Amini's home province three people died during the protests.
On Wednesday, women in Tehran and other major cities torched their hijabs and cut their hair as they demanded justice for the Kurdish woman who died in the custody of the morality police.
The protests are continuing despite Iran president Ebrahim Raisi assuring Amini’s parents of a fair probe.
