External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will visit the USA for six days on Tuesday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

He will visit the country from December 24 to December 29.

This will be the first high-level visit by an Indian official to the USA since Donald Trump won the Presidential election.

"He will be meeting counterparts to discuss key bilateral, regional and global issues," read the statement issued by the Ministry of external Affairs on Monday.

"During the visit, EAM will also chair a conference of the Consul Generals of India in the USA," the statement said.
