S Jaishankar pays tribute to Indian Armed Forces over Vijay Diwas anniversary

New Delhi: Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday paid tributes to the  Indian Armed Forces and remembered their contributions in winning the 1971 war.

"On Vijay Divas, join the nation in saluting our brave Indian Armed Forces whose valor led to a decisive victory in the 1971 war," he tweeted.

"We will always be grateful for their service and sacrifices," he said.

Vijay Diwas marks the military victory of Indian soldiers over their Pakistani counterparts during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971.

It is annually celebrated on Dec 16 in India.
