Malda, May 25 (IBNS) A Railway Protection Force constable was stoned to death by angry hawkers in Malda station premises in West Bengal on Monday, reports said.

The hawkers allegedly attacked the RPF office within the station premise.

According to reports, the hawkers protested and then attacked the office after one of them were asked not to sell wares  at the station by a RPF team.

RPF Commandant S S Tiwary was quoted as saying by The Times of India, "The violent hawkers attacked our barracks and wounded two more of our jawans. They also ransacked the Food Plaza of the platform and the manager of it was wounded and hospitalised. Thus we were forced to fire in blank."
