Bhubaneswar, Jan 12 (IBNS): A local court in Bhubaneswar on Thursday sent arrested Trinamool Congress (TMC) Parliamentary leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay to judicial custody for 14 days.

As Sudip Bandyopadhyay's second-phase CBI custody term ended on Thursday, he was produced in Khurdha District court in Bhubaneswar.

Rejecting his bail plea, the court sent Bandyopadhyay to judicial custody till Jan 25.

While he was being taken to the CBI-special court, Sudip Bandyopadhyay alleged political conspiracy against him as he was vocal in the protest against the demonetisation move the the Centre.

"There is a conspiracy to tarnish my image. I have been arrested without any fault of mine."

The veteran TMC leader, who was arrested by the CBI on Jan 3, alleged that his arrest was being directed by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

"It is being directed by the PMO. I know that CBI won't let me go and will charge me under false allegations as I led protest in the Parliament against Centre's demonetisation move," alleged Bandyopadhay.

"I will not bow down and will rather go to jail," said he.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has appealed to the court for granting permission to interrogate Rose Valley chairman Gautam Kundu in its custody in Bhubaneswar.

However, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, who was arrested by the CBI in connection with 17000-crore Rose Valley financial scam, will be produced to the same court on Jan 25.
