Road mishap kills 2 in Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 15 (IBNS): At least two men were killed when a speeding truck hit several other vehicles at Hastings Crossing area in Kolkata on Saturday morning, reports said.

According to reports, an overspeeding truck, which was coming down from Vidyasagar Setu (2nd Hooghly Bridge)'s Khidderpur bound ramp, suddenly lost its control and smashed into a mini truck and taxi, waiting at a traffic signal.

Driver and helper of the mini truck were killed on spot and four passengers of the taxi were seriously injured in the crash, who are being treated at SSKM hospital.

Police, however, seized the killer truck, while its driver and helper are absconding.
