Road accident in UP kills 9 people

Hapur, July 22 (UNI): As many as nine people died on the spot and 18 injured, when a pick up van colluded with a truck in Hafizpur area of the district on Bulandshahr road, police sources said here on Monday.

According to them, the pickup van was returning from a marriage in Dhaulana area on Sunday when the accident occurred near Sadiqpur village.

They were en-route to Meerut.

The injured have been rushed to the hospital.

The truck driver managed to flee from the spot after the incident, the sources further said.

Meanwhile, Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his grief over the death of people and instructed the authorities to provide all medical help to the injured, the sources added.
