Regional parties will decide 'next course of action' after Karnataka floor test: Mamata Banerjee
Kolkata, May 19 (IBNS): As the Congress tied up with HD Deve Gowda's Janata Dal (Secular) to form the Karnataka government, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said the regional parties will decide their "next course of action" only after the floor test ,which is scheduled to be held at 4 pm on Saturday.
In a tweet, Banerjee said: "We have great respect for the verdict of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. We will watch tomorrow’s floor test. We, the "regional" parties, will decide our next course of action after that"

Apparently the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular), which formed a post-poll alliance, are in an advantageous position as their total number of seats are well over the majority- mark of 113 in the 224-member House. The magic figure at present is, however, 112 as polling for two seats are yet to be held.
Going by that, reaching 112 would be suffice for the BJP, which has 104 seats, to win the floor test for now.
Banerjee has been a strong proponent of a federal front, which will possibly be led by several regional parties.
The TMC chief was seen earlier meeting Andhra Chief Minister and Telegu Desam Party (TDP) chief, N Chandrababu Naidu, and Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) chief, K Chandrasekhar Rao, over the formation of a federal front to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Banerjee has also said recently on a television channel that Congress will also have to sacrifice in the national politics.
